Sycamore Farms

Wedding video + photos

Twenty-eight acres of countryside south of Nashville, with a cedar-beamed barn, a three-acre lake and a stone bridge out to an island ceremony site. Sami and Blake's winter wedding here had it all: private vows, a lakeside ceremony and a sparkler exit.

From the wedding we filmed here

Sami and Blake's winter wedding used every part of the farm: the signature sycamore, the barn and the water beside it. Before the lakeside ceremony they slipped away to read private vows, just the two of them, and the night ended with a sparkler exit.

Filming at Sycamore Farms: what we've learned.

Best first look spot
Most photographers and videographers treat the island as the star of the property and walk right past the bridge that connects it to the rest of the farm. Don't skip it. The bridge is one of our favorite spots for a first look, private vows or a letter reading, and portraits, with the big sycamore the farm is named for close by.
The light
The island ceremony is fully outdoors, so the season and your ceremony time shape the light. Sami and Blake's winter wedding shows how good it looks even in the coldest months.
The ceremony
On the island, across the stone bridge, with the lake all around you. It's the signature spot here.
The reception
In the main hall: cedar beams, 45-foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers, with a mezzanine that looks down on the dance floor.
If it rains
No tent needed. Either of the two covered verandas can hold your ceremony, with fans and heaters for any season.
Drone-friendly?
Yes. From the air you finally see how it all connects: the barn, the water, the bridge and the island, laid out like a map of your day.
One tip for your timeline
Time your island ceremony so portraits land in the last hour before sunset. With the lake all around you, that golden-hour light is what makes Sycamore Farms wedding photos and films glow.
